After visiting the pagoda, I was very hungry! This place was completely empty, and I was greeted by the lovely owner and the cook. What a magical little place right in front of a historical site. Eating here with this view felt like a dream. We ordered the meat, spring rolls, beef noodle soup, and beef fried noodle noodles and all of it was absolutely amazing! Don’t skip out on this place and a lovely hospitality!!!

Great spot for breakfast or lunch before heading to Bích Động Pagoda. The food was delicious — I ordered bún chả and it’s honestly one of the best I’ve had in Vietnam. The coffee is good too. The owners are friendly, and they have several pets around to keep you company while you eat. Cozy, welcoming, and definitely worth a stop!
Nice surprise by the pagoda. I had chicken fried rice, which was a step above your average fried rice. It had flavour and a good amount of chicken. The banana smoothie was an excellent balance between ice and banana with perfect consistency. Service was a bit slow because they were understaffed, but the quality of the food made up for it.
Make sure you stop for a drink and a bite to eat at this little gem - it is truly delicious!!! The food on the main tourist strip is average at best, but the owner of the Gao cafe is truly passionate about both local cuisine and drinks. We returned twice and tried quite a few dishes - all fresh, flavoursome and beautifully presented. If you go on one of the main river and land tours - you can stay and eat and catch any electric van back to the drop off point. We are so glad we discovered this place!
The most friendly and lovely family/staff! Very welcoming and hospitable vibe, we came back numerous times. Extra points for cute dogs The rice coffee that was recommended was SO YUMMY as was all the food we ate (both breakfast and dinner). Solid 10/10 place :)
In the Vietnamese Google maps world of 4.9 star everything, this place stands out as actually being a really good spot for food and coffee. Definitely swing by if you’re visiting the Bich Dong temple. Friendly owners and great coffee - we came here several times. Try their Gao signature coffee!
We stopped here on the way to Bich Dong Pagoda. We had a lovely time sitting outside; the vibes here are calm and friendly. Ordered an ice matcha and mango passion smoothie and they were both SO refreshing, delicious and served up nicely. Park your bike/motorbike in front of this shop instead of by any parking spot you are whistled over to by people all the way down the road. It's right near the pagoda.
It was the best Bun Cha I had ever tried I totally recommend this tiny cozy bar/cafe in front of the Bich Dong Pagoda (plus you can park your bike for free and avoid the scam parking). Also, the staff is so friendly and helpful with any query/suggestion you might need. I’ll come back for sure PS: their pets are the nicest
